What is sushi-grade tuna?
Sushi-grade tuna has been frozen at specific temperatures to eliminate parasites and is safe for raw consumption. Always buy from reputable fishmongers.
Can I make this ahead of time?
You can dice the tuna up to 2 hours ahead and keep refrigerated. However, add the avocado just before serving to maintain freshness and color.
What can I substitute for tuna?
Salmon, yellowtail, or even cooked shrimp work well. For a vegetarian option, try diced tofu or hearts of palm.
